Like a child desperate for Santa Claus to arrive, the wait for the Innovative Finance ISA (IFISA) seems to have been never ending. The countdown to 6th April is over at last but… it’s not Christmas for me yet because none of the platforms I am active on have received the go ahead from the Funding Conduct Authority (FCA) to act as ISA Managers.

On your marks… get set… wait! 6th April was supposed to be the start date for the Innovative Finance ISAs (IFISAs) but the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) have only given the authority to offer such products to a small number of platforms – none of these are the major names… So the anticipated influx of funds from Cash ISAs will be delayed.

In this week’s budget, Chancellor George Osbourne announced that investors will be able to save up to £20,000 per year in an Innovative Finance ISA from April 2017, up from the 2016 limit of £15,240… FundingSecure continue to set new records for activity on their site… Assetz Capital review their investor decision making processes.

It was with some disappointment that the Secret Investor discovered that the HMRC were not going to allow existing funds that had been invested in P2P Lending to be transferred into Innovative Finance ISAs (IFISAs).
